Pop-up Workshop: Writing and Revising Abstracts

Pop-up Workshop: Writing and Revising Abstracts

Are you planning to submit an abstract to the conference Feminism & Classics IX (due 9/12), CAMWS, the SCS, or another conference? If so, we have a great workshop for you!

Feminism & Classics and the WCC invite you to a pop-up Abstracts Workshop on Wednesday 8/13, 3-5pm. This is a follow-up event to our Abstracts 101 event last month (click here for notes and a recording from that event).

In this workshop, we will discuss the mechanics of writing and revising abstracts. We welcome participants to bring an “abstract-in-progress” for feedback from volunteer mentors, who each have experience reviewing conference abstracts. You may bring something polished or an early-stage draft to get some direction.

Don’t have an abstract yet? That’s okay! Come by for a quick overview of abstracts and guidance on how to get started.

Most of the mentors in this session are volunteers in the WCC Mentorship Program. The next cycle of their cohort mentorship program starts in September. If you would like to be a mentee or mentor in this program, please submit your form by Friday, August 15. (Requests for short-term on-demand mentorship are considered on a rolling basis. You can make a request here or volunteer as an on-demand mentor here.)

Facilitators: Melissa Funke and Suzanne Lye
